Rift mechanics punish missed interrupts harder than any dungeon this season. We mapped every cast in Nexus-Point Xenas and assigned priority ranks. Print this before your key.
Priority Tiers
PRIORITY 1 — Interrupt or Wipe
These casts cause immediate group-threatening damage if they complete. Every interrupt on cooldown should target these first.
- •Arcane Cascade (Rift Architect Zarex): 120k AoE damage, interruptible for 6 seconds
- •Void Surge (Xenas the Unbound): Applies stacking vulnerability — 3 stacks = one-shot tank
- •Rift Collapse (Rift Weaver trash): 80k AoE, 5-second cast
PRIORITY 2 — Interrupt When Free
These casts cause significant damage but are survivable with healing cooldowns. Interrupt when your P1 targets are on cooldown.
- •Arcane Bolt (most caster trash): Per-target 45k damage, 4-second cast
- •Volatile Surge (Rift Fragment adds): 30k splash damage, 4-second cast
- •Energy Drain (Nexus Collectors): Healer mana drain, 6-second channel
PRIORITY 3 — Interrupt If Nothing Else
Low-priority interrupts that provide marginal benefit.
- •Mana Shield (Rift Adepts): Creates damage mitigation, 8-second cast
- •Arcane Resonance (generic trash): Minor raid-wide damage, 3-second cast
Interrupt Rotation Template
For a standard group (Tank + 1 Melee + 1 Ranged + Healer with interrupt):
1. Tank: Arcane Cascade (Zarex boss) 2. Melee: Rift Collapse (priority trash) 3. Ranged: Arcane Bolt (secondary targets) 4. Tank: Backup if melee misses
Coordination: use /range or WeakAuras to track interrupt cooldowns. The #1 cause of failed Nexus-Point keys is two players interrupting the same cast while a second P1 cast goes through.
Boss-Specific Notes
Rift Architect Zarex: The interrupt rotation here is mechanical — Cascade fires every 8 seconds. If your Tank has a 15-second kick cooldown, assign Melee to cover the overlap window.
The Convergence: Fragment detonations are not interruptible — focus on kill priority (Blue > Red > Yellow). The only interrupt target is Volatile Surge from Blue Fragments.
Xenas the Unbound: Common mistake — players interrupt Arcane Bolt instead of Void Surge. Void Surge is the kill ability. Assign one designated interrupter to Void Surge exclusively and let Arcane Bolt go through with healing coverage.
