March on Quel'Danas — Quick Start for Raid Teams

shifu.gg Editorial·April 3, 2026

Eight bosses. Tight tuning. Everything your raid team needs before your first pulls of the Midnight Season 1 raid.

Raid Overview

March on Quel'Danas takes place across three wings of the sunwell island, culminating in a multi-phase encounter at the Sunwell Plateau. The raid emphasizes coordinated interrupt rotation and precise positioning — individual mistakes compound rapidly in the back half.

Wing 1: The Landing

Boss 1: Admiral Tempestward — Naval commander. Assign one interrupt team per side. Flanking Broadside: the entire raid must split evenly within 4 seconds. Use raid marks to predetermine sides.

Boss 2: The Warband — Multi-boss encounter. Kill order: Warlock → Warrior → Hunter → Shaman. Use CC on Shaman throughout — uninterrupted Bloodlust wipes the raid in Normal+.

Boss 3: High Templar Voridas — Void mechanic. Phase 1: dodge Void Orbs. Phase 2: designated soakers absorb Void Convergence. Phase 3: all defensives available.

Wing 2: The Sanctum

Boss 4: Sunwell Corruptor — Cleanse race. Assign one paladin/druid per 10 raiders for Corruption dispels. Never let Corruption reach 5 stacks on the tank.

Boss 5: The Twin Heralds — Dual boss. Keep bosses within 10 yards of each other. Separate them and both enrage.

Boss 6: Arcanist Malvos — Arcane resonance. DPS check — kill add waves before resonance casts complete. Melee stay within 5 yards of boss. Ranged stay 15+ yards.

Wing 3: The Plateau

Boss 7: Kael'thas Echo — Legendary encounter. Gravity Lapse phase: interrupt Pyroblast mid-air. Four Phoenix spawns overlap at 30% — heavy cooldown usage required.

Boss 8: The Sunwell Manifest — Final boss. Three-phase encounter. Phase 3 is a DPS race — if Manifest reaches full energy, wipe. Every cooldown on pull in Phase 3.

General Tips

  • Bring two tanks with high self-sustain for Wing 3
  • Designate a raid leader specifically for interrupt callouts — verbal callouts save 15-20 seconds per interrupt rotation
  • Tier bonuses from the first three bosses are immediate upgrades — prioritize boss kills 1, 2, and 4 for tier acquisition
