Overview
Algeth'ar Academy is a dragonflight school of magic in Thaldraszus. The dungeon's signature mechanic involves solving echo puzzles that unlock shortcuts through the archive. Overgrown Ancient's root management is the most punishing mechanic for physical DPS.
Role Breakdown
The puzzle room shortcuts save 3-5 minutes on high-level keys. Learn the echo matching pattern before your first key. For Overgrown Ancient, maintain tight control of boss facing — cleave + roots is a combo kill.
Root events on Overgrown Ancient require pre-HoTs. Coordinate with tank on when to use a major cooldown vs sustained throughput. On Vexamus, mana management is literally a boss mechanic — keep resources up.
Physical DPS should prioritize breaking their own roots. During Crawth's feather vortex, use every movement ability available — getting caught in the spiral is a quick death. On Echo of Doragosa, save burst for Phase 2 adds.

Echo of Doragosa

- •Solve the Arcane Echo puzzle by matching orb positions
- •Interrupt Overwhelming Energy on cooldown
- •Phase 2: save stuns for Volatile Magic adds
Vexamus
Final boss — mana-leech phase
- •Mana Void: healers/casters keep Vexamus at 50%+ energy
- •Arcane Vulnerability: rotate defensives, do not stack the debuff
- •DPS check: burn through the final 20% before enrage
Affix Considerations
Afflicted during Vexamus is a hard check on healers — dispel it before topping the tank. Incorporeal during the Crawth intermission can delay egg kills — assign a ranged to handle it.
