Overview
Pit of Saron is a brutal gauntlet within Icecrown Citadel's mining pits. The first boss features an infamous kite phase with Ick & Krick. Disease management from trash packs is the dominant healer challenge throughout.
Role Breakdown
The Ick kite path should loop around the outer ring — never cut across the middle. Use LoS pillars aggressively for Forgemaster Garfrost. Diseases stack fast on trash — request dispels early.
Disease cleanse timing is everything. Prioritize removing Chill of the Throne disease before it stacks past 3. Save a big defensive/cooldown for the Ick kite phase if tank positioning is poor.
During the Ick kite, maximize uptime by following at max range. On Garfrost, break the boulders thrown at you for the Permafrost buff before focusing boss. Rimefang is a hard DPS check — save burst.

Scourgelord Tyrannus
Rimefang adds + Overlord
- •Kill Rimefang before Tyrannus lands
- •Dodge Hoarfrost on the ground
- •Phase 2: all DPS switch to Rimefang immediately on spawn
Affix Considerations
Raging is punishing on Ick's enrage phase. Spiteful spawns near Rimefang creates overlapping threat. Assign a melee to cleave Spiteful spirits on Tyrannus.
